Forcing Users to Write a Log Message when Committing Work
The Zero Length Commit Hook allows you to ensure that users always describe the work they are committing.
How the Page Looks
- The active project is shown in the top left of the screen. Click on the down arrow to change the project you are setting up this hook for.
- You can Disable or Enable this hook for your active project.
Disabling the hook will save the current settings for your active
project until you re-enable them.
- Enter the minimum number of characters you will accept for a
log message. The field will accept a numerical value between 1 and
999.
- The Warning Message is display to users who
enter a message shorter than the number of characters you have
entered in the Minimum Characters field.
- Click on Update Hook to save your settings.
